Ethno Sweden Will Be Saved for the 2011 Season!
Monday, November 22nd, 2010As many of you may have heard, Jeunesses Musicales Sweden will be closed down by the end of the year due to political decisions from the Swedish government. As a result, the Ethno Sweden was under threat of closure. However, due to the decision by the government to fund this fantastic project, we are pleased to confirm that the Ethno Sweden 2011 will be going ahead!
Ethno Sweden 2011 will be hosted by Folkmusikens Hus (the Folk music house) in Rattvik, one of the close collaborators and local hosts of Ethno. They will also have support from the regional authorities and hopefully keep some of the Ethno staff of JM Sweden involved in the project.

Good news for all Ethno fans as this year’s road tour was bags of fun and a definite sucess visiting schools and concert venues for over ten days. Entertaining the audiences with their unique sounds were Indian percussionist Charu Hariharan, bagpipes from Cassandre Balosso-Bardin, accordion wizard Dave Grayny and many more all received standing ovations.
